The Bird Conservation Fund has been in existence since 2016 and we have managed with donors to support 2-3 bird conservation projects annually. In 2019-2020 BCF has been able to make five grants totaling over $42,000:
$16,500 to Birds Russia for the protection of Spoon-billed Sandpiper breeding grounds.
$5,035 to Bird Life South Africa for an expedition to survey a forest region in Madagascar containing threatened and endangered species, and to work toward its permanent protection.
$11,000 to Oikonos Systems Knowledge for a bird-friendly lighting program on Isla Selkirk in Chile to benefit Juan Fernández and Stejneger’s petrels.
$5,270 to the Fundação Mais Cerrado (Mais Cerrado Foundation) to support the Mergus Forever Project to support the Avoid Extinction of the Brazilian Merganser Project.
$5,500 to Asociacion Armonia, to support Red-fronted Macaw conservation through its efforts to install nesting boxes in Bolivia.
